    Hello.

i am looking for a program that will encode my videos with these properties:

    general:
    extenion: .mpg
    format: MPEG-PS

    video:
    ID: 224(0xE0) - i don't know what it means
video format: advanced video codec (AVC)
    format profile: Main@L3.0
CABAC: yes - i don't know what it means
reframes: 3 frames - i don't know what it means
    GOP: M=2, N=13 - i don't know what it means
    width: 720
    height: 480
    aspect ratio: 3:2
    frame rate: 29.970
    standard: NTSC
    color space: YUV
    chroma subsempling: 4:2:0
    bit depth: 8
    scan type: progressive

    audio:
    MPEG audio
    version 1
    layer
    bit rate: constant

this is the video properties that hadware produces, and it 100% knows how to play files with these properties.

is there a program that may help me?

    thank you.

Try VideoReDo V4 see if that suites you. There's a 15 day free trial.

it would be easier if you just said what device the chip is in. depending on how the firmware of the device is programed different video and audio can be played. the chip by itself can't play anything.

I do not know how the firmware of the device is programmed. the device it a black box for me.
all i know is that it can play the same video it records. the video properties i wrote here are of the video it records.

i just tried using MediaCoder. i managed to make file with exact same prperties, except GOP parameter in video (did'nt find it in MediaCoder), and audio is mpeg layer 2 instead of layer 3. do you know how to make mpeg layer 3 in MediaCoder?
anyways, when MediaCoder finish encoding new file, no program can play it. tried VLC and MPlayer. both programs can play original videos recrded on the device. anyone know what can it be?

audio - select mp3 in the drop down.

but i'd try handbrake and use the apple universal preset or a ipod one. it should play.

making 264 in a mpeg-ps stream is probably the problem. it's not common. the chip can make and play other formats though.
