Girl stabs boyfriend for washing dishes too slowly
An American woman stabbed her boyfriend because he was washing the dishes too slowly, police say.
Elizabeth Holt plunged a six inch kitchen knife into James Demontiney's back as he washed up, it's alleged.
She wanted to go out and he was delaying her by taking too long doing the dishes. She is charged with assault and in custody in Billings, Montana.
Holt, 23, wanted to go to her parents, reports the Billings Gazette.
She became angry with her boyfriend, Mr Demontiney, who she thought was taking too long washing up.
Mr Demontiney, 26, told police his girlfriend then grabbed a kitchen knife, ran at him from behind and plunged the six inch blade into his back near the shoulder blade.
After stabbing him, Mr Demontiney told police she then called an ambulance and helped to treat the wound until they arrived.
Mr Demontiney is in a stable condition in hospital. Holt will appear in court tomorrow.

Having been able to live life from both sides of the fence I can now see that men are not really superior, it's just no one has had the heart to tell them they are not.

actually my choice of this nick had nothing to do with that, in fact i never made that connection. Thanks for pointing it out though as it does kinda very much apply to that too.
Oh yeah, and the grass is much greener on this side of the fence

The joke wasn't funny but its also nothing to get upset at either......
Whatever the case, I guess its time for him to find a new girl. The old one seems to be defective. -

Urban Legend, I'll bet on this being false.
Unless you have a link to a upi/reuters/bbc/othereputablenewssource on this...
Notice how they have the "story', but NOT a link to confirm this?
Is the Martian Invasion next?
With no confirmation link...of course. As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
"Thank God" (no pun intended, regarding what is to follow) that there are skeptics amongst us. Critical thinking needs a revival: These days, on the web, anything goes. What next, pray tell me? Someone will discover a new format that enables you to fit any movie onto a single CDR, with the same quality as if you used a bitrate twice as high! No links of course, just plenty of ad hoc reasoning, a few testomonials and lashings of self deception. I expect perpetrators will go on to study Orgone energy.

Mirror_Image,
Again you put little trust in your fellow VCD buddy, and again I'll have to prove you wrong.
It might not be from CNN this time, but there are still others reporting the news out there - big and small.

You will be amazed, but it's on kinda late I know...

There is nothing wrong with being skeptical about these things. It is better that people are skeptical to begin with, rather than readily believing anything on the web without being shown decent proof. If I had to search for proof to everything claimed without good supporting evidence, I would still be searching the myth that you can fit any movie on to one CDR whilst retaining the same quality as if you had used two CDRs.
If there is initially no solid proof given with a statement, then I generally find that there is no, or very little, truth to anything that was said in the first place. Take for example, shiZZZons® "official" xbox emulater, it is apparently kosher because the guy that gave it to him said it worked. So, we have a testimonial that he had a working Xbox emulater. Hell, that *must* mean that its real! Yes, I know what you're thinking -- shiZZZon®, Xbox emulater, some guys testimonial that it works... -- Well yes, I also thought of a certain organic matter high in nitrates, but what the hell, lets play the game anyway. So I get hold of the supposed emulater that works "because some guy told me so", and find that it is total and utter bull manure. Another one bites the dust. Just like those fabled PSX boot CDs and PS2 emulaters. Not Urban Legends, but something avaliable to a far greater audience, behold; the Techo Myth. Coming to a page near you, the psuedo-mathematics of "random lossless compression" that people believe will allow them to one day compress 10 DVD's worth of video information onto one DVD disk... lossless! Of course only tiny segments of data are actually used to test such techniques and obviously the "random" part of it is actually an oxymoron, "nearly random".
In related news, pigs might actually fly! Price of bacon to go up.

"If you really think like that, then you are a prime candidate for castration. "
Maybe Ms. Holt will loan you her knife. -
Yep, truth can be mighty strange, indeed, but until I have proof (like that link you posted, thanks!) I tend to disbelieve the outrageous. There are enough fictional Urban Legends floating around that posting the link to the story would be the first thing you would do, it seems to me.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -

And to set the record straight, have you lived as a man, and as a women? That is the only way that I can determine how you have lived on both sides of the fence. Whats the deal dude? -
To set the record straight: I've never thought men superior, it's just that know i can understand why they(men in general) still think that.
and to your other question:yes, i was stuck living as a man for the first 25 years of my life, but i have rectified that small problem now. and for adamthole:no i havent yet, i've just eaten enough estrogen to shrivel up the manliest of testicles

videoguy79: Estradiol is the most commonly prescribed drugs for male to female transexuals, and while it will not change primary sexual characteristics it will change secondary ones(breasts grow, body hair will lighten and thin out, loss of muscle tone and fat will be ditributed more to the hips and ass) and will slowly cause the testes to stop functioning(stops testosterone production)

Mirror_Image & d4n13l,
Being skeptic is a healthy thing I agree, but if you are going public and question others about their story; do yourself a favor and look into it first. In the time it takes you write your "standard" reply here, you could have done a simple search on Yahoo or whatever you prefer and found the story yourself.
...but it would be nice with a direct URL to the story ya.
If you still wanna go at somebody for a story they posted; stick to the story and don't throw arguments about some new lame compression technic at that person, unless he/she made claims in that regards.
How about the story that INS granted Student Visum to some dead terrorist hi-jackers, here 6 months after and with the names and their pictures being posted all over the place ?!?
...wishing that was an Urban Legend, the real world once again stuns me and leaves me with little hope for the future.

LOL!
Um... sorry to say this, but I havent said anything about the story in this thread. At what point did I question Bilbogod OR his story? Its only the other "Britney" thread (and the xbox emu thread) that I am very skeptical of. My point in this thread had nothing do with the story given here, but the fact that some people believe anyhing they read with no solid evidence. That stuff about the compression, that exact topic came up a few weeks/months ago on this very forum - It had all the usual people fooled, the ones who have no concept of Mathematics but still believe it anyway, because it was "on the web" I expect. I wasnt having a go at Bilbogod either, I like the guy, he lives quite near to where I live. We PM each other sometimes, and I am sure that he knows that I wasnt talking to him.
>>If you still wanna go at somebody for a story they posted; stick to the

Somebody was talking about Urban Legends; I made some remarks regarding the Web's equivalent. If you go to the Britney thread, you will see that I did exactly what you are saying - I checked the story out myself, but again, that is seperate from this thread.
Hey, perhaps if you spent the time actually following the logic of this thread, you wouldnt have needed to take"the time it takes you to write your "standard" reply here".
LOL.
Oh, also check out the hoax xbox emu thread - this also helped with the inspiration for what I wrote earlier in this thread. I tested it myself before I could reassure myself 100% that it was fake. I dont call people up unnecessarily, I test the claims and search for links occasionaly too. Likewise in the Britney thread, I searched for other evidence but found nothing, only a lousy "News of The World" story. Its not that I dont beleive the stories and think that there isnt any substance behind them. I'm not calling the posters liars either, I am trying to persuade them to give good evidence, if there is no evidence (or very poor evidence) then yes, I will cast my doubts over the initial claims. I think that is justifiable, dont you?
PS
I bet if you had to search for a reliable link *everytime* you heard something dubious then you will become tired of doing so at some time or another. -
ROTF...
"BILBO R U INTENTIONALLY TRYIN TO PISS ME OFF?
**** U
YOUR GONNA GET CUT! OR SHOT!
FRONT ME BITCH FRONT"
BTW, to everyone else, yes, we are joking here.
Quite a funny little parody of another thread.

d4n13l,
By posting your remarks about un-true stories, as a reply and in a thread with a "legit" story; you are sending a message that you don't find this to be truthful. If I wanted to argue the spin of the www, I would just stick to the threads that my arguments was in concern to.
Funny how a thread gets all twisted around also. From being a simply news alert, about some maniac in Holland - to VCD compression, PS2/XBox Emu and some sex change drugs...
I don't check and verify every story that I read, life is too short for that. You evaluate all input you get, based on your own experience and common sense and then draw a conclusion. ...but if I'm going to dispute somebody over what they claim, then I check the facts and make my "case".
My reply was also more towards Mirror_Image, since he is the one with the standard reply and willingness to bet money on his remarks.
...maybe I should just take him up on that in the future
Regards,
John Brondum -
Hey dude, I understand where you are coming from. Its just that I felt a bit unfairly blamed for something I didnt do. If you found it to come across that way (my initial post about web myths), please believe that was not the way I intended it. I guess you can put my viewpoint down to the fact that I stuidied Science and Maths at college.... or that i am just a skeptic at heart.
Anyways, I wasnt disputing Bilbogod's story like I said, even though strictly speaking, yes it is in the wrong thread. (but what the Hell, since we are also talking about sex change drugs! LOL) I just chose to post it here; so as to go on from what Mirror_Image commented on: Not his lack of faith in the story, but his skepticism of it for having no link or other supporting evidence. I think you mistook me for disputing the story, but I was just talking about web myths, thats all. Since someone brought the subject (myths), up I wanted to follow up to it. Sorry for the conclusion.
PS
Feel free to take me up on anything else. LOL -
BTW, I dont really believe in keeping threads strictly linear anyway, I like healthy discussion.
-
d4n13l,
No problem, as long as we end up understanding each other and not launching CAPS attack.
...about the sex change drugs, did we ever get a clear answer on that ?!?

John Brondum
