  1. Firstly I'd like to note that I'm quite new at this, and although I've done a lot of reading and researching I'm no where near where I need to be so please bare with me.

    My steps:

First I use DVDFab HD Decrypter to rip the blu ray to my hard drive.

I then launch RipBot (v1.16.2), it will then demux the file using eac3to automatically. After encoding the movie I usually check the file in random spots to see if any issues arose. The movie starts our fine, but as the movie goes on - usually about halfway through - the video and audio get out of sync.

I'm quite sure this isn't RipBot, but probably something I need to do, or have not done, or done wrong.

I checked out the demuxlog file and I find a couple things that threw me off. I noticed that there was audio overlaps (I haven't noticed this in all my movies, just a couple (Avatar, Live Free or Die Hard, and Max Payne)
    Code:
    eac3to v3.22
    command line: \"C:\Program Files\RipBot\Tools\eac3to\eac3to.exe\" \"G:\Ripped\MainMovie\MAX_PAYNE\\" 1) 2: \"M:\temp\RipBot264temp\job2\video.mkv\" -seekToIFrames 3: \"M:\temp\RipBot264temp\job2\audio_English.dtsma.flac\" -down16 1: \"M:\temp\RipBot264temp\job2\chapters.txt\" -progressnumbers -log=\"M:\temp\RipBot264temp\job2\demuxlog.txt\"

Added fps value (24 /1.001) to MKV header.
Video track 2 contains 148135 frames.
    eac3to processing took 25 minutes, 33 seconds.
    Done.

I tried using tsmuxer and saw this (There were more I just only copied one in an attempt to google search it to find a cure/cause) They basically all appeared around the same times as the ones above.

    Code:
overlapped frame detected at position 00:07:34,922. Remove frame.
    - I'm not exactly sure what it means by remove frame.

Now, I did go back to my ripped movie and did notice something rather odd. The video roughly halfway through gets sort of scrambled (I don't know how exactly to explain it so you can see the attached screen shot).

The blu rays I have ripped that get audio sync issues all appear to have this "scrambling" of the video issue. Perhaps this is a firmware issue and I need to upgrade my drivers or maybe an issue with DVDFab. I'm not quite sure exactly as to the cause of it, but it definitely doesn't happen with all of my movies, only the three I listed above. Oddly enough all of these movies are 20th Century Fox. I have Wall Street which is also a 20th Century Fox movie. I really hope that isn't the issue, and I'm sure there is some way for me to solve this.

Anyone have any ideas or pointers. I'm basically posting as a last resort, because I've been looking for answers probably for the last two days and haven't exactly found what I'm looking for.

  2. Think I may have found the issue by searching for issues with DVDFab and BD+ apparently there are known issues where roughly halfway through the movie it stops removing the protection. I'm testing AnyDVD HD and will let you know my results.

  3. AnyDVD HD worked out fine, and I tested Live Free or Die Hard with the latest release of DVDFab and it seems they fixed it. Just need to encode them both with RipBot and hopefully I won't have any audio syncing issues.
