I have a bunch of DVD's (owned by me with my footage), that I would like to bring into Adobe Premiere and make movies. I downloaded DVD Shrink to rip the DVD to my hard drive, but I would prefer to have multiple clips divided by when the camera record button was pressed, instead of one huge long movie clip that I have to shorten hundreds of times during the edit process. Thanks!

  2. DVD Shrink can cut them into pieces, as can MPEG2Cut2

I don't see any option like this in DVD Shrink... other than "Split VOB files into 1GB chunks", but that's not what I'm talking about. Also, these files are in VOB format, so I guess I would need some free converter before using MPEG2Cut2?

  4. I don't use Premiere so I have no idea whether or not it handles VOBs. VOBs can be converted to MPG using VOB2MPG.

No, it handles VOBs easily and well.

After the DVD is on the hard drive Shrink can be used to cut the big VObs into smaller VOBs, but I'd use MPEG2Cut2. Actually I use the older MPEG2Cut found at the same link.

But it can't do this(what he originally asked for in the first place):
clips divided by when the camera record button was pressed
....unless the chapters on the DVD are set up that way.

I knew that already, as did yamahaalex37 if he has any sense at all. Therefore I purposely didn't address that question. He'll have to divide them all up manually, which is what I tried to help with.
