  1. Have FLV capture at 23.976 that I want to convert to NTSC VOB at 29.97. I have tried to save as a VOB with Aiseesoft Total Video Converter set at 29.97 and other methods. Problem is jumpy VOB. I have demuxed with DGIndex and put pulldown flags with dgpulldown, etc. Nothing seems to work.

I guess you have tried some free dvd converters like avstodvd and dvd flick? Same problem?

  3. I'd also suggest a better conversion program. It sounds to me like the 23.976fps source is being converted to progressive 29.97fps by the addition of a duplicate frame after every 4 frames where it should be encoded as progressive 23.976fps with pulldown applied. You can check by advancing a frame at a time looking for the duplicate frames.

Either that or you're not using this Total Video Converter properly. Try setting it to 23.976fps and maybe it'll apply the pulldown for you so that it'll output interlaced 29.97fps. Since you're familiar with DGIndex, open an output VOB and run the Preview. If it says Frame Type:Progressive and Video Type:NTSC, you or the program screwed up.

  4. Finally used HCenc with CQ1 and pulldown with DGIndex files and got it smooth. Somehow DGPulldown couldn't do it.

    Thanks, Guys.
