Hello all.
I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder with VCR combo, model DMR-EZ48V, and the problem is that I can't set the aspect ratio to fill a 16:9 TV screen when I playback DVD movies.
What appears is a letter-box aspect with thick black bands at top and bottom.
But when I play current telecasts through the system, the screen is filled, with no bands.
I've followed the instructions, but nothing I do corrects this problem.
I would appreciate any help with this.
Thank you,
Herbert

Many movies are in 2.35:1 and they will have black borders at top and bottom. If you want them in full screen you must zoom and then lose video material.
Or do you get this problem with 1.85:1/1.7:1 movies? Check that back at the movie and it will say what the size is.
