I've been reading the different posts and have become completely bewildered by this whole thing. I have an avi movie that I downloaded in 23.976 fps (film), 576 x 240 res, and already in 48,000 hz mp3 audio which I know is what you need for dvd audio. I viewed the movie in windows media player and the quality is already very good. Therefore I don't want to do anymore encoding then necessary to preserve what I already have. Some posts say I should convert the audio to a wav file and use that as the source audio, use the original avi file for video and load the vcd ntsc film template to get it from avi to mpg. (I use tmpge by the way). They suggest that most tv's will play ntsc film so don't convert to regular ntsc which would add frames and therefore make my picture jittery, and can also cause audio sync problems. I also understand that dvd will support mpeg-1 format in 352 x 240 but the audio has to be 48,000 hz. I have ulead movie factory and sonic mydvd to burn with. Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts about this? If I load a vcd ntsc film template do any of the settings in tmpge need to be tweaked a little bit? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
