This might be a simple question for you guys, but I haven't find any answears.
I have the subtitle (.srt) and the div-x film (.avi). With VLC I can combine thoose and se the subtitle, the same goes for my DVD player, but in some old players in doen't work. So how do you "burn in" the subtite directly in the movie.

You can use autogk to add permanent subtitles in avi divx/xvid, see https://forum.videohelp.com/topic316471.html

Or if you are converting to DVD-VIdeo use Favc, DVD Flick or ConvertXtoDVD and convert to a dvd with switchable subtitles that works on all dvd players.

Incredible an answear in 4 minutes, is an auto answear??

Well I tried it, and must say that I tried with auto GK before, but didn't know the ctrl+F8 combination, sp it works fine, but as it usually is, a second question appears.

The original file is 701mb, know I get 3 files,
    1. 1.23 GB,
    2. cd 1 699 mb
    3, cd 2 570 mb

Probebly get that because output size is on 2 cd 1400 mb.
But if I just want no split or larger file, just the same, what do I do.

I try now again with target quality 100%, will be ready in an hour or so, but if you have another tip, Iäl take it

So another thing, I can't choose divx codec in advanced settings, only xvid. Does that matter, and if so where can I get an divx codec, autogk doesn't include one.

Thanks again for superb help och amazing speed.

Set it to custom size and 700MB if you want the same size as the source. You can't use target quality. Install the DivX Codec from www.divx.com and you should be able to use it.

    And yes, I'm a bot.

Hmm, thats what I suspected. Some movie are 800gb-1.3 gb, I don't want to compress them further. Maybe I just simply choose the nearest level possible.

What about xvid - div x, is there any difference, is it ok whit xvid, or should I down load the codec you recommended?

    Thanks again.

Not any big difference. I would use xvid.

It has been a while since the last thread, but I have been busy. So I have now tried out different types of encoding with auto gk, but it doesn't work. I get audio and subtitle synchronastion problems. Is it something wrong with my computer, does the program take a lot of cpu power so I might not run anything else in the background???
Or any other solutions to the syncronastion problem?
