I for the life of me cant recall how to (or if you can) crop a video in virtualdubmod.

I am making some PDF tutorials that are to contain video, ultimately in the SWF format.
My screen capture software is capturing in AVI (XVID) format nicely, quality is good and as needed. Other formats are coming out distorted and bad quality, so this codec is working for me.
I need to crop the video though and no other software I have (which I remember to how to crop in) seems to like working with the AVI files produced but VDUBMOD is working great with the file (I trimmed the start and end nicely).

I also using other software can convert with the quality I need to SWF format for the PDFs. All I need now is the crop.

So in a nutshell how can I crop an XVID AVI file in VDUBMOD?

    Thanks for any help.

You can also do this in Virtualdub which is now up to version 1.9.9. There are a bunch of input plugins you can download also.

Thanks for the reply, it is sort of working!
Another strange occurance is that the video is captured at 1920x1080m my full screen res.
When trying to crop the video doesnt display fully on the screen, I would need to pan or scroll down to the bottom to crop the bottom of the vid, however I cannot find a pan, scroll, or zoom/view level to see the bottom.

I hope im making sense but essentially I need to change the view % or zoom level in order to see the whole video to crop it but I cannot find this. Im going crazy, its been a while since I did any vid editing and ive lost the plot!

    Thanks again.

  4. Right-click the VDubMod screen and change the zoom to whatever you like, 50% or whatever.

  5. I think he means the Crop dialog is too big to fit on the screen so he can't reach the bottom control. VirtualDubMod's Crop dialog can't be resized. Switch to VirtualDub -- it automatically makes the Crop dialog fit on the screen.
