I have the most recent Xvid, ffdshows and also VDM.
I wish to convert an AVI file to Xvid that would be played by DVD players

As I see in one thread.. It was set to AS @ L5. But I do not have that option but there is this ''Unrestricted'' option.
How do I accomplish what I want?

Easier, if you're converting AVIs (AVI > AVI) would be to use AutoGK (install with the ESS compatibility option enabled) or AVI Recomp. If you want to do it manually, keep this post in mind: Common DivX DVD Players AVI Playback problems!

ok.. I tried the AutoGK and AVI Recomp. The 2 does not work.. My DVD player still won't play them..
I'll try sticking to the rules stated in the thread you linked me.

Just to clarify (since you said players)....you do know that Avi/Divx/Xvid files only play in DVD players that are designed and built to play Avi/Divx/Xvid files....right?

Yeah.. That's about it.. More likely on my DVD Player.. Is written
    MP4 Digital Video
    DivX Video
    HDCD Playback

But it plays this *Check attachment*

Ok.. Scratch that.. Nothing says Xvid.. But my other DVD player is written there Xvid. But doesn't play my converted file..

Google the make and model number of your DVD player and find out exactly what it will accept.

Ok... Looks like I got it to work.. So it only needed the resolution not to exceed 720x576..
Thanks guys for the help. Thanks Ai Haibara for pointing out the thread you linked.
