  1. Hey,

I'm having this weird issue trying to mux an mp3 into an avi - it appears tow ork fine - but when i open the muxed avil file in vdubmod i get an error "AVI: Truncated or invalid MP3 audio format detected (18bytes, should be 30)"

I have a feeling this is occurring as a result of mencoder's muxing, the command line im using is:

mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy -mc 0 -noskip -audiofile audio.mp3 -o output.avi input.avi

i tried alternatively to use avimerge (transcode) but that wouldn't process it at all:

    -bash-3.2$ avimerge -i input.avi -o output.avi -p audio.mp3
scanning file input.avi for video/audio parameter
[avilib.c] AVI open: avilib - Error opening AVI file
REASON: No such file or directory

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  2. try using avidemux (graphical) or ffmpeg
    ffmpeg -i file.avi -vcodec copy -i file.mp3 -acodec copy -y file2.avi

I would just like to know,
why people are still using very-outdated software such as VirtualDubMod...

Well, for me, I use it because it can automatically generate an AVISynth script when opening a file and use it to stream the file into VDubMod, and because the audio/subtitle stream handler can be a little easier to work with, at times.

    Also, AutoGK uses it. :P

I do maintain the latest versions of VDub (both 32 and 64-bit versions) as well, of course.
