    HI --
I have tried over and over but for some reason, a video I've made won't burn and then open.

I created an MPEG-2 from a VOB (audio/video folders) in Vegas Movie Studio. Extension is .mpg.
This video plays perfectly in Windows Media Player on my home computer.

I've tried several times to get this on some type of cd or dvd so I can bring it in to work and get up on the web.
Its large, so I think its too big to burn as is on a cd or dvd (tried it)
I've tried zipping it, and burning it on a dvd (with Sonic RecordNow), opening it at work (on a Mac), unzipping/unstuffing it -- won't play. QuickTime says its not a valid movie file. Windows Media Player on my mac won't play it. If I right click on it and use Open with ITunes - nothing happens, ITunes won't open it...

I've tried dragging it over to my work PC (I have a mac and a pc) via GoToMyPC and then uploading to our server. No go (it took over an hour to go over)

I've tried burning it via DVD Architect which comes w/ Vegas Movie Studio and I've tried burning via SonicRecordNow.

Its like 335 MB unzipped. I haven't done much with video/authoring, and not for a long time. I just can't figure out why this .mpg video will play on my WMP on my home PC, but won't open once its burned.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm about to rip my hair out! : )
thanks in advance for your help!!!

Zipping an MPEG is pointless, it will barely compress.

335 MB is not big for a video file. You should be easily able to fit it on a CDR, capacity is at least 650 MB. Make it a data disk.

Use GSpot to find out what it is.
Post a screenshot of that (jpeg or GIF).

I tried that originally, but the video replayed all black, no sound. Any ideas?
And yes, I saw that the zip was barely reduced - I was just trying to get it on my work computer. This is so frustrating.

If it's a normal .mpg, you shouldn't be having any of these problems. So my guess is it isn't. Maybe post a Gspot screenshot of the file?

I did finally end up with a good .flv file. But being the video rookie I am, I assumed that I could import that into Flash CS4 and make a .swf.

    hahaaaaaaa

Now why would I think that? lol
