DVD volume too low on TVs, but is fine in VLC on my PC. Fixes?

I have a DVD that I use for a class I teach. It is an original, but it is old, and I think it was created poorly from a VHS original (not sure).

When I play the DVD on any of my TVs (using multiple DVD players), the sound is terrible! You can't hear it, even with the volume all the way up.

When I play it in the computer, using VLC, it works just fine.

I really need this to work in a regular DVD player. I could also work with it if I had it in AVI format, as I have and Iomega ScreenPlay Pro. Is there some way I can bring the volume up, or do something to fix it?

Try convert it to avi with mp3, use for example autogk, handbrake. If the audio is still low in the avi mp3 just run https://forum.videohelp.com/topic314909.html

I had a similar problem but I was using a multi scart when I unplugged the VCR and sat from the multi scart the volume skyrocketed and I was estatic! Try using a direct connection between tv and dvd if u aint already.

U could try converting the vids using Super video converter and increase the DB output in the conversion options

Demux the DVD, to get separate video and audio files.
