  1. Most MKV movies play fine on MPC HC, it's just a few that have this problem.

    No offense to VLC lovers, I just prefer using MPC HC, so hopefully I can fix this.

    Have you compared the mkvs that works with the one that doesn't work? Using mediainfo and check resolution, codecs, framerate and see if you see any difference.

    You can try change the mpchc directshow renderer(View->Options->Playback->Output) or use ffdshow and haali media splitter instead of mpchc builtin decoders. Disable decoders under View->Options->Internal Decoders and then install ffdshow.
