Can't say I've noticed this until now, but whenever I open a video file with VLC (1.1.11) by d-clicking or using Open With, it plays at a (loud) volume of '100%', rather than using whatever level I've previously set. Is that by design? Can I change it please? I know what level I like, and don't want to have to change it every time!

Tools->Preferences->Audio->Keep audio level between sessions.

While you're on a roll ... do you happen to know a way to get VLC to keep the final frame showing after it finishes playing please? I've searched hard (which I confess I didn't for this audio issue) but so far not found a solution. I can of course just drag the slider leftwards, so no big deal, but ...
