I own my own restaurant and I was wondering if anyone knew how to set my televisions up so that when a sports game goes to commercial for example, instead of showing the commercial I have my own pre-recorded commercials/advertisements for my store to come on.
I have seen this in places before so I know there must be some way. Any help is appreciated.

Are you even allowed to show a televised "sports game" in your restaurant? Somehow I doubt that.

There are a number of "licensing options" for sports bars, dance nightclubs, etc. to show certain channels or events (at a fee attractive to the show producers). So it's quite possible to completely legally show stuff -even as an attraction/incentive.
You could look up "time delay" devices (like they use to bleep out swear words on the networks) to manually swtich to your own content. Or you could get a pc that had software that detects scene change (with fade-downs & fade-ups) and automatically switches to different material for pre-determined amounts of time...

Good luck with live broadcasts!!!
