  2. The first thing I would do with any video file that comes as an EXE is delete it.

if they are just FLV videos with a .EXE extension you could simply rename them with the correct extension. However with a .EXE i'm guessing this is not the case and its not actually what you think. I wouldn't run the files, I'd definately follow jagabo's advice and delete them.

If on the other hand these are files that you've had for a while and do play as videos on your PC (not sure how but maybe you've got something setup to play them whilst ignoring the assosciated extension, then post the MediaInfo here so we can have a look at what you're really dealing with. saying 'FLV with .EXE at the end' doesn't give anyone any where near enough information to help you.

Going back to the original point though....if you havent run these videos yet....don't risk it!!

Are you sure they're FLV videos, and not Shockwave Flash/Director videos combined with a player?

But, yeah, I'd be extremely wary of them, too. Better not to take the risk. There's no 'self-playing FLV videos' out there, that I'm aware of. (Yes, I know someone could probably easily create some by combining an FLV with one of the simple players, like Flash does, but there's nothing official, and I'd be worried about .EXE files coming from an 'unknown' source.)

Can you download MediaInfo and open one of the 'videos' in that, then post the 'Text View' details so we can see what your working with?
