    Hello,

I am looking for a lightweight quick flv splitter. I have done a quick search on google and can’t seem to find what I am looking for. The program would have to be able to split flash files rather quickly.

    Regards,
    Dave

    Is FLVExtract not fast enough?

I don't think that is what I am looking for.

I simple looking for program to split and flv into two parts. For example, if I have a 20 minute video, I would use the splitter to split the flash file into two 10 minute parts. I'm looking for something that can do the job quickly. I know there are some programs available but they are slow.

Sorry, got the wrong end of the stick re cutting vs demuxing.

Some quick research reveals that FLV is a container format; there are various paid for so-called professional FLV editors out there of which I have no experience, but you could try one of those.

The fastest way in terms of processing time will probably be to demux using FLVExtract and then work on the elementary streams with the usual tools such as Virtualdub (to cut the video/audio) and ffmpeg to remux to FLV. This requires significant user interaction though and doesn't lend itself well to batch processing etc.

P.S. just found this post which points to a small command line util that should do what you want.

AviDemux is a free program that can do this.

It can open and save the flv container format.
You can split the file without recompression.

Newest version can open flv with h.264 video.
