    Hi,
Found this site after hours of comparing cards and pvrs and I figured I should get some advice on what way to go about getting my vhs tapes on my computer. I wasted 10 bucks on one of those easycaps and the res was just bad. I used 2 differnt programs and neither were not that great. I looked at the canopus ones but they were a little bit too pricy for me*I only have 6-7 vhs tapes). Could someone recommend a card or external to use? I am using a sony vcr/dvd with only rca outputs.

    Hi Teebo and welcome.
To the left of this post is a Column called Video Help.
Check out LISTS - CAPTURE CARDS
Then check out HOW TO - CAPTURE

You'll need to a fair bit of reading.
Use the search facility to help cut down on the choices.

    Cheers.

Will do. Should I be concerned that a lot of the card reviews are from 2003-05?

OOPS! My apologies. It's been a while since I read up on VHS capture.
In a second PC running Windows XP SP2 I have a Leadtek 'Winfast TV2000 XP Deluxe' card.
    It works well.
Just completed 5 conversions to AVI for the family.

My first choice because I'm in Aussie.
