I have a one year old LG 47" LCD 1080p TV hooked up to a new 80GB PS3 using the HDMI cable and when I play BlueRay movies the picture quality is faded out, along with high pixelation/grainyness (?? Hope that's the right word). It looks like VHS being upconverted. The movies I've tried are Transformers, Black Hawk Down and Behind Enemy Lines.
The PS3 output settings are set to display 1080p.

I'm not an expert at all when it comes to BlueRay and HD but I was wondering why the colors are messed up along with the high pixelation/washed out look. I thought the BD movies were suppose to be crystal clear.

DOes anyone have any tweaking tips that might improve the picture quality?

Sorry...I'm a big time newb so I hope I put this in the right place as well as asked the correct questions.

    Thanks,

I can't speak for Behind Enemy Lines, but Black Hawk Down is heavily processed to look like bleach-bypass and with a lot of grain. The process makes the image look desaturated with high contrast values. Some parts of Transformers are similar.
