    I have a 1080p video that plays on my PS3 with audio only and a black screen. I tried playing the video on my Xbox 360 and the 360 wouldn't play it at all, just hangs on a black screen.

  3. I'm pretty sure 6 reference frames is too much for the PS3. And profile High@L5.1. It may not like the resolution either. Yes, a lot of players don't like AC3 in MP4 (it was officially added to the spec a few years ago but many players have not been updated).

    You can try just changing the profile to High@L4.1. Still, when it hits a section with 6 reference frames it will have problems.

    The audio plays fine on the PS3, I just get no picture.

    Changed it to 4.1 as suggested, still plays the audio with a black screen.

  7. Then you will probably have to reencode with settings that the PS3 and/or XBOX360 supports.

    ps3 is also bad with video with peaks over 15mbps and i don't think it will play anything with b_pyramids. re-encoding is the only way to get that one to play.
