I installed the ATI macrovision patch per the instructions that came with the patch. Sadly it didn't work.
I then did a search for the renamed original file "ATIVMDXX.ORI".
It was in the x:\windows\system32\drivers directory along with the patched version.
I then did a search for "ATIVMDXX.*". It turns out there was another copy of the old file in the x:\windows\system directory. I copied the patched file from the x:\windows\system32\drivers to the x:\windows\system directory, rebooted and wha-la!!

I didnt code it to look in \system only in \system32
I only had a way to test it on NT/2K/XP ... not 95/98
so your right - I didnt know if it worked on those systems ... I could update the code to search in \system also (maybe next update)
