Can you post the details like video and audio codec from the ts file? Use MediaInfo.

Thus far, I've only done a few .TS conversions with ConvertX, but it seems to be one of the only tools that can do this (?). No problems with the ones I did. Keep in mind that ConvertX gets fairly regular updates, and some releases have fixed significant bugs.

. . . Meaning that you compared the version # reported by ConvertX --> Help against the latest version listed in the Tools section here, or at the ConvertX site, and they were the same ?

I just hit a couple of unusual problems (not involving .TS files), noticed my installed version is two or three versions behind, so I'm about to update. Might help, might not, but I figure I should try it.

One really good thing about the Tools section here is the direct "Mirror Download" links the VH admins try to include for most programs, wherever possible. In the case of something like ConvertX, this saves us from having to hunt around and drill down on the program's site. New releases there can be hard to find otherwise, or not distinctively named by version #. Sometimes a program has a nice built-in hook for retrieving its own updates, but you can't always count on that.

  8. Until you get it sorted, (and if you want to get it done now), you could run the *.ts file through HDTVtoMpeg2, then feed the MPEG to ConvertXtoDVD. If it doesn't accept the file either, you'd know the file's buggered. Its editing ability is minimal, but it has a commercial detector that works fairly well.

    Just a thought. Good luck.

  9. Did you try Soopa's suggestion? Often transport streams have errors and desynchronizations that can be fixed (if they are tiny) when you "remux" it back into the same container

Another possibility is that it is truncated and the first few frames are damaged. You could try cutting the 1st few frames off with TsMuxer, or even avidemux.

Another option: since it's a MPEG2 transport stream, projectx and pvastrumento are good choices for "fixing" streams.

Once you "fix" it, try plugging it back into convertxtodvd

  10. ok i understand the first few frames bit but when i load the file into the program and i click on it before i hit the convert button it shows in "audio stream" a zero,, i assume that means my whole file will be converted with no audio at all, not just the 1st couple frames.

Which program are you referring to when you say "the program"? Have you tried any of the suggestions so far?

Most programs will read the inital bit and/or header to parse the stream. If it is damaged it can report the audio as "0", that is why you should either fix it first, or cut the bad frames.
