    Hi All,

This is my first post here and need help changing the background color of my video. The original video has a black background and need to make it transparent so that I can use the file in Flash with my own background.

The video editor that I am using it is Avidemux. Can I change the black background using this or once imported in flash I could do the same.

    Please help!

    Thanks

You need a nonlinear editor capable of performing a luminance key. Vegas, Premiere, etc would be better choices than AviDemux. Unfortunately, since black is the color you want to matte out, any dark details in the foreground might also get turned transparent. You'll have to tweak with the threshold to see what you can get. Usually, a chroma-key (greenscreen) image would work better, but I understand you gotta work with what you have.
