it may be a corrupted portion of the AVI.
I had one today and had to remove a 3 second segment using Vdub.
It went through ok after that
Try using DivFix if its a DivX first ,however. -
if it was encoded with mp43, is it divx? well, anyway, i used divfix and all it said was that it said it was done. i assume there were no errors. does divfix fix the errors? thanks.

Yes...DivFix may repair.
To see details of video .
Oen up video in Virtualdub then look at file info. -
also, the movie file that i used divfix on, enemy at the gates, i downloaded in two parts and i tried to join them with virtualdub, but it said that it couldn't because "the video streams have different data formats". What's that all about?

Re-encode them again with TMPGE with same settings and they will match.
By the way...DivFix does'nt fix evreything...its not perfect. -
thanks for the advice. divfix didn't work, so i used virtual dub and found out which frame was the problem and cut it out. for the joining, i encoded both parts and then joined them. thanks. :P
