Ok, so I wanted real quick to cut, and drop some DV stream clips from
the last four SNL episodes of the Palin paraodies.

I opened the avis ( XVID encoded) in MPEGStreamclip, v. 1.9.2,
on a MBP with 1.5GB of Ram, running OSX 10.5.5, with
    Perian 1.1.1 installed.

The first 17 minutes of the avi is loaded in the window, but
will not load anything past that.

    From MpegStreamclip's Stream info:
    Duration: 0:17:34
    Data Size: 142.47 MB
    Bit Rate: 1.13 Mbps

    Video Tracks:
    Xvid, 624 × 352, 29.97 fps, 1.00 Mbps

    Audio Tracks:
MPEG Layer-3 Audio stereo, 48 kHz, 128 kbps

    Stream Files:
    Saturday.Night.Live.S34E03.Anna.Faris.HDTV.XviD-XOXO.avi (142.47 MB)
Opening the file in Quicktime Pro 7.5.5, correctly shows the complete file,
    and movie info says this:

Has anyone else seen this type of wierdness?
I've emailed squared5, but no answer as of yet......

  2. do you have another QuickTime codec to decode Xvid?

MPSC avoids to use Perian (lot of bugs wih some codecs), so it does not load it if it's not necessary (if MPSC found another codec can handle the wrapper/codecs).
Maybe a non-activated codec in QuickTime (XVid component/DIvX/etc) was loaded by MPSC?
so, check your folders (~/Library/QuickTime/ and /Library/QuickTime/)
    I don't have other idea

    bye

the only other one I have on this MBP is the default Toast 8 DIVX decoder/encoder.
I'll try moving that out and see what that does....
