Hello, I want to compile short clips from DVD's I own. To encode them so that I can play them on my Zen. I am new to video editing and need a good beginner's program.
Thanks for any and all help!

Commercial DVDS? Then would I use dvd shrink in the reauthoring mode to cut out the clips you want(you might need to use dvdfab decrypter for newer dvds). You will get one vob for each cut. You can then convert the vobs to avi xvid mp3 using WinFF.

Thanks baldrick, I've downloaded these and will try and figure them out as soon as I can find the time. I'll post on how it turns out. Freeware, that's great!
