I rip my DVDs using Pinoy's Guide.
I decided to use the XVCD template since my player doesn't supports SVCDs.
I have been using the SVCD template then converting over to VCD format after demultiplexing and multiplexing in the non-compliant mode.
Then I would use NERO to write the cd in the VCD (non-compliant mode). This method also worked for converting DIVX.
I tried to use the same method with the XVCD template but no darn sound. I tried to write to the cd in VCD non-compliant, compliant but to no avail. I also tried to write to the VCD without demux and multiplex, but once again with no sound.
The total mpeg size was 1.5 gb for a 124 minute movie. After demuxing my wave file is 175 mb. and the video file is 1.2 or 1.3 gb. Is this normal?
Could the problem be that the template is set at 3000kbits and my player only supports 2500kbits.
I have tried a several ways to get audio to work, but it won't. Maybe converting form SVCD to VCD (non-compliant) is the way to go for me.
