  1. Thank you everyone for your suggestions, but it was to no avail, i tried raising that thing that webslinger suggested, but it did not work, i tried using divxfix but it didn't work either, i already have the plug-in VFAPI, and i am unfamiliar with virtual dub and cannot figure out it's controls, i normally use smart ripper>dvd2avi>tmpgenc. if anyone has any more suggestions, that wuld be great,if nt i suppose i'll just keep trying.

    Thanks again everyone!

  2. I don't see how you can use Smart Ripper with a downloaded file, but have you tried using TMPGEnc 12a ? it handles AVI's much better then any of the new versions i've encountered.

I have a great method for making avi`s to vcd. Works great for me anyway, but there are lots of ways to do this.

First u decompress the avi with the program "avi2vcd" under "decompress", then u get a file named for example Shrek.avi_pcm. This file is much bigger than the ordinary file. Then you just convert it to vcd with TMPGnc; once u have done this the file is about its ordinary size.

Make sure that u have all the latest codecs.

If this don`t work you`ll have to choose higher priority to "Directshow multimedia file reader" (I have priority 5 on this one, zero on all the others except from "avi vfw compability reader that has -2)
You can do all this under "environmental settings" In the VFAPI plug-in section.

    Hope this can help
