  2. What type of drive?

    What type of connection?

Have you tried another PC or port?

Have you tried connecting internally? This is the real way to either fix it or determine if it is the drive itself or the connection.

I am pretty sure the external drive itself has a problem. I wonder whether I can use those restorer softwares to retreive files?

  4. No shit it has a problem. That at least is obvious.

If you're pretty sure what the problem is, and have no interest in answering questions or providing useful information, what the hell are you asking for and why don't you just fix it yourself?

    Good luck.
