    Hello everyone,

Longtime lurker, first time poster. I just built a new system, quick rundown of specs...

    WinXP Home SP2
    3.2 Ghz AMD Athlon 64 x2
Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe NVidia nForce 570 SLI
    2 - MSI GEForce 8500GT 256MB cards running SLI
    4 GB DDR2 RAM
    1 - 300 GB HD (running Windows)
    1 - 750 GB HD
    1- 400 GB HD
    2 Lite-On Sata LH-20A1L-06 DVD Burners
12 USB 2.0 ports, 4 Firewire, Sata etc.

I have another system running Pinnacle Studio 9 and 11 with a MovieBox Deluxe and it works perfectly, but it is an Intel system. I tried installing everything on the new AMD system and it will just not work right. Video preview freezes, capture freezes, preview turns black and white, all kinds of problems. I am thinking it is a hardware conflict so I need a new device.

What do you guys recommend with my system specs? I mainly capture digital cable and some VHS through VCR using S-video and RCA's. In the future, I was thinking of the BlackMagic Card with HDMI but right now I could use a cheaper solution.

    I would appreciate your help.

    Thanks!

  2. That system shouldn't have any problems with standard definition video. You have some kind of hardware conflict or driver/software problem. Be sure to update all your motherboard hardware drivers and your graphics card drivers. Make sure all your drives are running in DMA mode.

Yeah that is what I was thinking. I updated all the drivers and checked the DMA settings, all of that is good but it still does not work.

I see that this is your first post..well..welcome.
Sorry to tell you that you got off on the wrong foot.

You should start a new thread with your question and
not post it in someone else's thread. Just try it.

    That's only one strike
