hi guys this may sound like a dumb question. When you do 2 pass vbr encoding in cce 270 sp, why when you begin encoding it displayes passes 1 of 3. Is it really 2 and not 3?.

CCE does an analysis pass first, then begins the encoding passes. Each pass builds incrementally on the analysis data. So whatever number of passes you select, add one for the final count. I know of no other encoder that counts in this way, but then CCE is the only mpeg-2 encoder I know of that does more than two passes anyway.
