  1. After authoring elementary video stream (MPV) and compiling it - i played it in PowerDVD
    and the result was terrible!!!
The video frame starts to leap from specific point till the end of the movie...
i erased the movie and compiled it all over again and it didn't help,
actually - it leaped again exactly from the same point it leaped at the first compilation!

    heres the log:

I'm not the end-all in DVDLabPro, nor am I the sharpest tool in the shed, but I have authored a good many discs sucessfully now in that application.

Could you please restate your issue? I'm not sure what "leap from specific point till the end of the movie... " means. If you mean the movie stops and jumps to the end, I would suggest checking your connections and making sure you don't have a command at that particular spot that would auto jump to the end of the movie.

I would also suggest you view the movie before you put it into the assets bin to make sure you have the whole thing to begin with.

How did you arrive at your elementary streams? Did you let DVDLabPro demux for you?

Was this something that you captured? How did that happen? What format?

Was it something you encoded? How?

Check your streams to make sure they're DVD compatible.

Are you playing the video from the output folder on your hard disc? The reason I ask is if you have a bad burn on a disc, it can behave in this manner. If you see this problem when playing from the hard disc output folder, select the Connections tab in DLP and make sure there isn't something there that you didn't intend to be.

I'm surprised DVDLab Pro let you compile...

Your 1st VTS's video specs are 544 X 480, not DVD compliant as the rest of the project is. Not to be a jerk, but I would look at that first. Just a suggestion.

Certainly the problem of the OP is not in the non-standard resolution of their DVD-video.

it means that the movie's frame rotating/shaking till the end of it...

i checked it before adding it to assets window - it worked great!

i created it myself with DIKO... it was AVI file...

and its not the first nor the second time i use this method (AVI =>DIKO=> MPV =>DVD Lab Pro).

Output folder... so it cant be bad burn...

but like i said - i use the same method over and over with the same resolution...
the elementary stream (MPV) works fine (played it with BSPlayer),
thats why i don't get it...

    Thank you all again!

I'd agree that the 544x480 is something to start looking into. Can you try to re-encode that to a valid NTSC resolution to see if it makes any difference?

    Regards,
    George

    I have already created several "400/480/512/528/544/560/576/640 x 480/576"
disks with DVD-lab PRO, and my LG has always played back them all without a problem.

you could try the dlp tool - re-write gop timecode. but i'd agree with the other guys. 544x480 is not a dvd res. 720x480, 704x480, 352x240 are your only choices. uncheck the properties/options/advanced box to allow non-dvd sizes, and don't use them.

  13. well...
    weird...
    i encoded the video again...
this time to 704X480 resolution ant its running great!

guess it was something to do with the video resolution or something...
though its the first time it's happening...
AND its played from my hard-disk...

    anyway...
i couldn't solve it without your help...
    THANKS!

It still seems the real problem is in your PowerDVD ---
and you simply found a way to by-pass it.

AND its played from my hard-disk...
If your standalone player is 100%-functional,
but you don't use it anymore,
could you please give it to me?

I'm curious; did DLP give you a warning when you compiled the DVD when you were having the problem?
    Quote Quote
  16. SCDVD,
for every 544 X 480 video i'm addin' to assets window i get the massage that warns me about not havin' DVD compliant resolution...
but it also give me the choice to ignore this massage...

my Pioneer can handle this resolution...
    maybe PowerDVD cant...

You may want to try VLC. It's a very good player and it's free.

  18. SCDVD,
can it play authored DVD files?

All DVDs are authored by someone. If you are asking if VLC will play non compliant DVDs, that's a different question. With any player, there is always the risk of strange behavior if the DVD is not compliant with the DVD spec. You can get by with some things but there is no player that can deal with any type of non compliant DVD that you throw at it.

Software media players cannot be smarter than the people
who create them. Indeed it requires a lot of IQ to program
a video player for despising the MPEG-compliance only because
the file container is a .VOB instead of a .MPG --- evidently, such
pseudo-developers really believe the DVD-Forum idiots deserve to be
    very-well cocksucked.
