Hi All
Now that I've had my HV20 for Many Months I figured I should try to get some vid on my Hard Drive..
To Capture I read a decent poster talking about HDV Split.. So I downloaded it every thing seems fine
But as I hit play from the HDV Split Software the camera goes on but then shuts down in 5 seconds?? Everytime
I cannot figure it out... The Camera is fine if I unplug the firewire no-issues the camera plays
Plug it in and try to play/rec...and the camera just shuts down...
Thoughts ?
Thanks in advance...

Go into the camera's menu and make sure that you do not have DV LOCKED selected. You should select HDV/DV.

Is your computer capable "doing" HDV ???
HDV requires a lot of horsepower.. -
Your computer stats show WinXP sp1. You need sp2 to capture HDV.
