    When I try to join 2 AVI files, each around 700MB, either with NeroVision, or Virtual Dub..I run out of room on my hard drive because the output file it's trying to create (an AVI file) is over 120G!!

    What am I doing wrong?? Why is this happening all the time? All I'm trying to do is join two avi files. It also is taking 1.5 hours to do.

    Any suggestions?

    Don't hijack threads. Start a new thread for a new question please.

    You're saving it out as uncompressed AVI, which as you've noticed is huge.
    You should set both audio and video to direct stream copy to keep the compression of your original (or use full processing, and select and configure the codec).

  3. File -> Open Video File
    File -> Append AVI Segment
    Video -> Direct Stream Copy
    File -> Save as AVI
