I joined 3 AVI videos together using Avidemux as VirtualDub wasnt working because of some sort of error occuring.

The thing is all 3 joined together fine. i saved it. when i played the video, the first video has sound but the other 2 don't.

the video PLAYS great. all three as one long movie.

i went to properties of all 3 videos and the first video's audio says AC3 ACM Codec and the other two says MPEG Layer-3... im guessing it has something to do with this. how can i fix it so to speak?

could you please explain in steps as i only know the basics.

    Thanks.

I figured it out! After a looong time and lots of mistakes I've done it.

    What i did was:

I got each of the three videos and went to properties and wrote down what audio format it was and the bit rate aswell.

The 2 videos that were M-peg Layer 3, i opened the video in Avidemux (INDIVIDUALLY), went to audio >> Encoder... changed the audio format to AC3 (which was the audio format of the videos audio that worked) and then clicked on configure and changed the rate to the same rate that the video thats audio worked bit rate was. Then SAVED it.

after i did that with both the videos all three videos had the same bit rate and audio format. then i merged them (append) in Avidemux. I had afew problems here, eventually it did work. what i had to do was join 2 first and then join the third with the first two. something abt overload or the other.

PATIENCE! u need alot of it. but its working now... i'm just going to see how big it'll be once converted to dvd to download on a disk!
