    Hello everyone,

I have an H.264 mp4 file that I've been trying to convert to an xvid avi file. I usually use an avisynth script like, DirectShowSource("filename.mp4"), to load the mp4 file in to virtualdubmod. From there I just convert it using the xvid codec. However, when I tried to use that script on this specific file vdubmod gives me the error "no video stream found".

The file plays fine using media player classic and vlc; however, only the audio plays in quicktime. When I used Gspot to determine if I had the correct codecs for the file it said my codec status is undertmined. I have ffdshow installed and the libavcodec is being used to decode H.264 files.

The file only consists of a H.264 mpeg4 video track and an AAC audio track. I've tried various programs to convert or demux the mp4 to no avail. Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.

Demux using YAMB 1.6 and run Dgavcindex on the resulting .h264 file. Do a search on both.

I previously tried using YAMB but the resulting demuxed files were always corrupted. I think I found a solution. I tried using Dr. Divx and for some reason that program worked. Even though it may not be the best solution I think I'll convert the original file to a large divx file and then compress that using xvid. Thanks for your help Soopafresh.
