  1. I there, I used to convert xvid avi files into AVI x264 using VDubMod, but since reinstalling my XP SP2 system, I cannot see the codec in the list when going into the Save As... Options.

I choose .avi as the Container, but there is only XViD and a few others in the list of codecs, whereas before I has x264 and also RMVB (or something similar i think - how I made my .mkv's)

can anyone help me out please?

I have tried to install a x264 codec by Shark, but that did not work, and I have installed ffdshow again, and haali Splitter.

I also use autoGK for my DVD to XViD conversion, so don't want anything that will interfere with that process.

I use VDubMod, as it allows my to use the Logo Filter, which I need.

    Thanks in advance.

It will convert AVI files. I don't know it if adds logos - not something I care for or about. You can feed it avisynth scripts as source, so you can do pretty much anything you like to the video before encoding just be writing a script.

  6. yea, VDubMod would be the go though... I have worked a few things out, by re-installing K-Lite Codec Pack, this gave me x264 encoder, but the result came out all fuzy and weird looking, so I am getting there... I dont use avisynth scripts as I am feeding AVI straight in, No VOBs etc, just changing AVI XViD -> AVI x264 and MKV

any help with this greatly appreciated... gotta be some VDubMod experts here, that know what I need from a fresh install to get this working?
