I'm looking for a good authoring software package. I want to be able to easily and flexibly create custom menus. I have looked at a few packages and find them to be too constrained and limiting. I suppose to make it easy to use, these programs are also less flexible. I am looking to create a two level menu. The top level offers the choices - Play or Menu. If "Menu" is selected, a second level menu is brought up with 24 graphic buttons that are images of a charter based language. I want to be able to insert and place each image and then easily set a chapter point and link it to each respective image.
An example of the frustration that I am having is illustrated with Ulead Video Studio 10 Plus. It's easy to set chapter points and link it to an image - their image which is just a frame grab of the first frame at the chapter point. You can't change the image to one you want to use.
The thing that I am looking to do is not some unusual exotic requirement. I want to be able to place objects that are menu "buttons" (even if they don't look like buttons) and link these to chapter points that I set. Should be simple -----. Any suggestions?
