Yes. But it would be better to consider your end use (DVD, Blu-ray, divx, etc.) before committing. What PC specs does the video editing and DVD authoring software require and recommend?
When selecting a PC for this task, I always look at the end goal, then investigate the software and hardware needed to achieve that end result. When reading the computer requirements for the needed software and hardware, I can make a good decision about the PC. -
I just noticed that it doesn't have any built in firewire ports!

A PCI FireWire card wouldn't be expensive. Unfortunately most newer motherboards don't have too many spare PCI slots and only a few have a FireWire connection. The other problem I see is only one hard drive. Just adding a second, or third HDD would be a big improvement.
It has one spare 3.5 bay and another floppy bay and a spare 5.25, any of which can have another HDD added to it. You can get adapters for the bays and the power cables. What would be more important is how may HDD controller connections it has available on the motherboard?
Speed wise, it's decent, depending on what you want to spend. RAM is enough for XP. Vista will run fine with that also.
Same question as earlier, what format are you planning to edit? -
It's a pretty old processor in the scheme of things. That PC shouldn't cost you more than $400.
Also, the on-board video card on the motherboard takes away RAM from the main system.
You can get an Intel Q6600 quad system for not much more and performance will be significantly faster. You'll even be able to edit HD res stuff. -
