Is it possible to record footage from a pc game using my camcorder?
The reason I ask is because people I have spoken to in the gaming community use "Fraps" but when I tried this it took up a lot of memory and the playback was aweful. I was wondering if i could do it with my camcorder. The camera is a canon mv650i. I have firewire and another connection which is a round plug with four pins. The lead can also connect to my graphics card at the other end (nvidea geforce 6600). If not can anyone give any advice why Fraps was so rubbish? My pc has 512mb ram. Could this be the hold up? I know thats not a huge amount by modern standards. Cheers in advance for any advice.

Fraps is a huge resource hog, and 512Mb is not enough, but it could also be other components in your PC.
Setting your camera up would work, but would be of limited quality.

at the risk of sounding like a complete dullard which way should I conect the cam to the pc? I am guessing not usb. Should I use the firewire lead marked "dv" or the round plugged lead marked "s" or the small red and yellow ones marked "mic" and "av"? Also what mode should the cam be in? I know it will have to be in the "camera" mode but when I connect it to the pc will the image on the pc monitor automaticly come up on the camara monitor? Thanks again in advance.
