I'm trying to do some edits to a dvd clip, I ripped the main movie with ripit4me,then chose the correct VOB file & converted it to Mpeg2 with Super. Not sure if my settings were correct cuz pic quality is not to good. Is there anyway to convert to mpeg without anyloss of quality? Its a 30min clip my settings on super were ffmpeg, nothing checked on stream video, no change on video scale, 29.97 frame rate, 9552 bitrate(sorry I couldn't figure out how to show the super settings on here)

You could try VOB2MPEG. That's basically just converting the VOB files directly to the MPEG2 videos they actually are - no re-encoding. SUPER is most likely re-encoding the videos when it converts them to MPEG2.

stream copy does not work on all formats, but when working like vob to mpeg2 the video stream is copied and output as mpeg without re-encoding, which means the copied stream with the mpeg ext is the same quality as the source file.
