I have a toshiba DVD player with divx capability. I have been successful in playing various AVI files burned to DVD disks. what I am attempting to do is convert some files that I have which are in various other (mpg and rmvb) formats to AVI. My most recent try was to use SUPER to convert the files. this seemed to work fine, and the files play on the PC with no problems. but when I burn them and try to play them in the DVD player on the TV, white horizontal lines appear, about an inch apart. any advice on where to look? I've tried various combinations of parameters in SUPER with no apparent change to the video.

it's a standard TV set, in the US so I guess that's NTSC format.

    thanks.

never mind. it wasn't a problem with the avi file at all...I discovered that disks I had previously watched were doing the same thing...apparently it's yet another bug in the DVD player (toshiba sd3990). I unplugged it and repowered it and all is well.
