CCE 2.50 Won't Work In WinXp PRO

Hi There,

I've got a full working version of CCE 2.50 (IF YA KNOW WHAT I MEAN ).

I'm using WinXp Pro but CCE will not work properly. It will make the .vaf file and then when it starts to to a 3 pass vbr encode it only goes so far and freeze's.

This happens with any avi wither it be a DVDrip using DVD2AVI and Vfapi or captured avi using my TV capture card or a downloaded Divx movie.

I've searched the forum to see if there was anyone else is having the same problem and the solutions that where provided i tried but still it does not work.

Must i downgrade to Windows98SE again to get it work or doe's ne1 know of any other things to try.

it works fine for me... WinXP Pro and CCE 2.5. The only problem that I did have was a CRC error... but applied a patch that fixed that. This error only happened when I did multi pass after .vaf it would crash. Now it works GREAT!!!

I just got a hold off that Patch and applied it to CCE now it won't even make the Vaf file .

Arghhhhh - This is getting beyond a joke.

I was never able to get CCE running properly on XP either, until I tried DVD2SVCD... Give it a shot if you haven't already - at least that way you'll know if CCE will run on your system. I still haven't figured out what DVD2SVCD is doing differently than I had done to get it running correctly - CCE still fails when I run it on my own.

I haven't tried encoding anything other than DVD through DVD2SVCD, but I'm sure it can be done - probably just a matter of changing an ini file or the avisynth script. I'm going to give this a shot soon.

CCE 2.5 has problems with AMD processors. Try 2.62.
I have WinXP and CCE 2.62. Works Great. Now there is new version 2.64 that support VCD and SVCD.

Mmm... I wouldn't blame AMD for this one. I run it, and it works, uh, fine.

I should say that, oddly enough, CCE doesn't work at all for me with PLAIN AVI MATERIAL. It only works for me when frameserving. Weird stuff.

You may also want to check this out. When you open your .avi (or fake .avi frameserve file), double-click on the name under configuration and check the frame range. Sometimes, as I have been told, the last frame CCE reads doesn't really exist, and thus will bring up an error at the end of the first "encode" pass.

So, for instance, if your range says "0 to 54362", try changing the last frame to "54361" and see if it makes it past the first encoding pass.

I have win XP prof and it works fine...with no patch......Athlon 1.2gig 200FSB

CCE2.5 WILL NOT encode audio with a AMD processor. DVD2SVCD treats audio independantly.....I can get CCE to work no problems as long as I just do video and mux the audio later. If i try and process a AVI with audio...ie produce a program stream.....it dies....just uncheck the audio bit...so you are just producing vidio and it will probably solve your problem.....if DVD2SVCD is giving problems then I dunno what to sugest.....maybe UNDER clock your CPU/mobo and see if that helps....some may laff but....I have found faulty CPU's this way and had to get it replaced then it worked properly....although u do imply u HAD it working with 98??...was it a upgrade?....if so try a fresh install of XP

I still can't get it to work but i'm not worried anymore.
Just downloaded 2.64 and it works perfect with winXP PRO, now all i need is to find a place where i can buy it(IF YA KNOW WHAT I MEAN ).
