    Hi,
    I would like to scan & clean my WinXp Pro registry from all the garbage which will have undoubtfully gathered over the past 2 years!

    So, which do you guys recommend? A free one preferably...

    I suggest regedit.

    It is free and built into windows.

    Gotta go with CCleaner. Free, easy to use, cleans the registry and file fragments in separate operations. I consider it a must-have.
    Two others that I like as well are Wise Registry Cleaner (there is also a Wise Disc Cleaner- both free), and Eusing Free Registry Cleaner.

    Remember to back up the registry before using any cleaner.
