I am having trouble connecting my Motorola HD DVR cable box to my Toshiba HDD DVD recorder. I am assuming I can feed the signal from the cable box into the DVD recorder thus allowing me to record the channels from my cable box. Which cables work best? Which outputs and inputs should I be using? What channels should I have my television set to? What channel should I have my DVD recorder set to?
Thanks in advance for your help.

depending on the cable box you should have RCA and RF outputs. RCA should give better output with separate video/stereo sockets (white, red, yellow) or better yet S-Video cable. Toshiba's have IR blaster allowing PVR to control cable box. Check your manual. I can't imagine that there's no schematic diagram showing clearly how to connect the two. If you have no manual go to the Toshiba site to get one in pdf.
