    Hi,

I've ripped 2 or three dvds in the past using Mac The Ripper which have worked fine...

But recently i ripped two dvds (burned them using toast titanium 7)

and both had the same issues.

1 was a movie, and about half way thru it starting stuffing up (stalling, skipping etc) to the point that it was unwatchable.

The other was a tv show dvd and halfway thru the FIRST episode (of five) the SAME problem occurred.

Both of the original dvd's worked fine.

So... Does anyone know WHY this is happening and know how to prevent it from occurring next time i rip a dvd??

    Any help/advice is appreciated.

    Cheers

I suspect you're using MTR of the 2.6.6 persuasion and
you ran into one of the new copy protection schemes that
2.6.6 doesn't recognize. Go to mactheripper.org, join the
forum, and get the new 3.0 version (donationware).

And I suspect you may have encountered one of the new annoying copy protection schemes the movie studios have come up with... in that case even the current beta of Mac The Ripper may have problems. BUT the developer is working on a brandnew, "patchable" version of MTR, and there is a fundraiser going on to help him to dedicate more of his time to this project. Read all about it here:

If you're using (or gonna use) MTR regularly, it would be nice to donate anyway...
