    What is the correct command for reencoding a xvid file to wmv ?


    i tryed this

    ffmpeg -i input.avi -vcodec wmv2 output.wmv

    but maybe it isnot that simple

    couse the output dosent seam right.. well it dosent play on my wmv player

    You already noted correctly that ffmpegX can't do this conversion, so this forum may not be most suitable for CLI questions. Maybe someone here has a hidden talent, tho'...
    You may want to check out Flip4Mac Studio (Pro (HD)).

    I would suggest you to rather use VLC Exporting Wizard in order to do this easily.
