  1. What is the easiest way to convert WMV files to either xvid or divx so they can be played in a stand alone divx player? Auto GK doesnt accept WMV files I noticed. Any other quick simple programs for this?

    Thanks All!

Dr. Divx is really easy to use and configure, but if you don't buy the commercial version of the Divx codec to use with it, it limits the quality of the output you get with the free version of the codec. Dr. Divx itself is free - the full Divx codec is not free.

There's also the more recent versions of VirtualDub, with the WMV plugin - but I can't remember if I ever got that to work. Of course, you can also write a simple AVISynth script to frameserve the WMV into VirtualDub, and simply encode to an AVI/.divx video.
