Hello,
Im KWorld PVR-TV 300U user. Its pretty good because its so small, but the bad thing is, that recorded audio/video (AV) is out of sync! Like 1 hour clip's end is that:
audio comes 2 second later that it must come!
Also another bad thing is that it gives bad signal for one channel... but I solved it with signal booster (20$)!
I also thinked that I should build my KWorld PVR-TV 300U into bigger box, and put 2 coolers there so it will be cold always!
One my friend talked me that the outsync problem is in KWorld's TVR program, but I turned it around because the outsync problem was with 3 other softwares too: Virtual VCR...
But I asked from KWorld's support, and they talked something about windows hotfix, anyone knows about that?
Thanks for helping me,
-Heiko 8)

Welcome to the forum.
http://www.kworld.com.tw/en/index_download_Analog.htm
Here is the link to the kworld support page for the PVR-TV 300U. It shows 2 downloads available. Neither of them speaks about fixing out of sync problems. The 'hot-fix' the support mentioned probably is one of the available downloads. I don't know.
Your PVR supports real-time video recording in MPEG-4/2/1 format. Have you tried smaller capture framesizes and bitrates to see if it is possible to get a file that is in sync, like VCD (352x240 NTSC or 352x288 PAL) MPEG-1 @ 1150Kbps. Reducing the framesize and bitrate may give you a starting point to work from.
System requirements for your PVR states - Pentium-IV 1.6 GHz or higher recommended, your profile shows only a 1.4 GHz processor. This alone could be the cause of your out of sync audio. Have you checked the CPU load during your video captures. You can do this by hitting Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys (bring up Windows Task Manager) then click on the Performace Tab. The CPU load should not exceed about 60% during capture. High CPU load can cause out of sync audio and dropped frames.
Good luck. -
Hello
these downloads what that KWorld page says are out of date! Like latest PVR software is 2.2.0.4 not 2.2.0.2
KWorld's support email said that there is hotfix, and when I asked where to download it, they didnt answered to that!
VCD is also out of sync! I tried with resolution and bitrate you said, audio comes 4 seconds later in 4 hour movie end!
I have read from internet that other people have the same outsync problem with even 3 GHZ processors!!!
I think I have to get the MS hotfix!

Im not sure... the outsync appears also with other softwares, so its Microsoft Windows hotfix problem or tuners problem! And Im recording from analog TV!
Thank you,

PVR-TV 300U driver update
v4.6.0208.0
Date 2006/02/10
Application
PVR-PLUS Patch file
V2.2.0.2
Date 2006/02/16
http://www.kworld.com.tw/en/index_download_Analog.htm
These are the only updates I have been able to find for that device. Also a quick search at Microsoft.com turned up nothing on KWorld or for your devices name.
Judging by what I have found the problem might be related to the sound card causing the out of sync issue.
I would follow the instructions on the page and try the updates. That might fix it. (?)
Good luck. -
I updated everything... but the result is same!
KWorld gave me also URL for the hotfix info, but I have deleted that email! Ill ask them again about it!
And this hotfix is not for KWorld... its for Windows XP Professional
and microsoft said that it fixes it!
HOTFIX FOUND: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=887131
How can I get it
Thanks,
-Heiko -
It appears you have to call them to obtain the hotfix. The problem seems to come from Quartz.dll, which is used for timings in various programs. You could also try to extract the Quartz.dll from your original Windows CD and try replacing the one on your system.

I think its useless to copy file from CD, because windows has already copyed it from CD or no? -
I think what that email means is that you must call microsoft on the phone, request the hotfix, give them your credit card numbers, and pay $$$ for it. That is what I get from reading all that.
I'd take that device back to where I bought it and get me a better one. One that works. lol
Good luck. -
Hello,
I cant get it back to shop, because I took it into parts!
I got the hotfix from my friend. He called to Microsoft K but they forwarded him many times and at the end he was in India where he get the hotfix (and £33 phone bill)! The hotfix didnt worked!
I hope its not against the VideoHelp rules, when I share that, what MUST be free for Microsot clients!!!
http://www.x92.org/~heiko/WindowsXP-KB887131.zip
Thats the hotfix, there is password for unpacking Microsoft's archive!
Is there any other way?
Thank you,
-Heiko
